The three or four wire barrier systems are mounted on guardrail posts to absorb energy and flexing to cushion unavoidable conditions. How to Install Cable Barrier?
Cable number: During installation, determine the number of cables according to your requirements firstly. Three or four cables are commonly used.
Generally, more cables add to the strength of the system as a whole.
Space distance: The barrier posts are often installed with spacing from 6.3 to 32.6 ft. Larger spacing usually means higher deflection distance.
Tensioning: Cables are fixed onto the post and tightened to a specific tension in accordance with the local temperature and environment. After tensioning, the deflection will be reduced and the system will become more capable of preventing vehicle runoff. Normally the tensions values range from 2,000lb to 9,000lb.
