Constant Force Springs

Constant Force Springs

Constant force springs are also called constant tension springs and hold a loading force at a constant rate. In addition, the motion of stretching and retracting is constant. Contrast to power springs, the constant force spring produces force by stretching the outer end of spring while the inner end of spring is fixed. The springs made using BTX carbon steel with heat treatment have the strongest hardness of HV560-590 and the tension strength is of 2000-2300kgf/mm2 and can be operated for 8000-30000 times in different situations. The springs made using stainless steel have the highest rigidity of HV560-590, tension strength of 2000-2300kgf/mm2, relative fatigue lifetime of 5000-20000 times.

Common Applications:

The constant force springs are mainly used on lifting and retractor devices in windows, doors and medical equipment.
