Leaf springs are mainly used in load-carrying vehicles like automobiles and tractors, acting as a buffer and a shock absorber. In practical use, a leaf spring is a component of the integral structure of the vehicle, the main load of which comes from the vertical force generated by the weight of the vehicle. Automobile leaf springs are made of multiple pieces. When the spring is deformed under pressure, the relative sliding of each piece causes friction, which generates certain resistance, decreasing the structural vibration of the vehicle. Therefore, it is unnecessary to install a shock absorber. We can customize leaf springs for our customers according to specific demands on material and diameter.

The most widely used materials for leaf springs are 55Si2Mn, 60Si2Mn and 55SiMnVB. If the thickness of leaf springs is greater than 12mm, 55SiMnVB is recommended. After heat treatment, its hardness can reach the standard of HRC39-47. And shot blasting will be carried out on its concave surface.
