EDSDB Series Intelligent Braking Unit(45KW)

The motor's electric potential energy will charge the inverter's capacitance reversely if speed of the motor descends too quickly or load of motor wobbles too quickly while the motor is running. This will increase the voltage upon power modules suddenly and is easy to damage the inverter. The inverter will control it according to load size and performance. You only need to connect external braking resistance to realize timely energy discharge when the braking function is needed.

Application
It is a kind of energy consumption braking model that is designed to consume energy through braking resistance in order to protect the inverter and the rest of the machine.

Note
1. Please make sure that the settings of braking unit and resistor are correct.
2. Do not perform high-voltage tests on the braking unit or it will cause damage to the semiconductor device.
3. Fix all screws during wiring, loose connections can pose a fire hazard.
4. Please install extra fans or cooling equipment when several braking units are installed in parallel in the same cabinet.
5. There is high voltage direct current inside the braking unit when the power is on, so contact with the braking unit, internal components or printed board should be avoided.
6. Do not touch the heat sink of the braking unit and the braking resistor. This can lead to electric shock or severe burns.
7. The braking resistor itself should have overheat protection and other protection methods. The braking resistor will keep heating when the braking unit is in failure, so the resistor should be able to isolate itself. ENC will not take the responsibility of such accident caused by failure to isolate.
