Thermocouple Assemblies
Supplied with a temperature transmitter, the industrial thermocouple assembly is often used in combination with display instruments, temperature recorders and electronic regulators, so as to offer direct surface temperature measurement to liquids, steam, gases, and solids. Its measuring range spans from 0℃ to 1800℃.
Specialized in various styles of temperature sensors, we can provide IEC standard thermocouple assemblies. The material combinations include Platinum 30% rhodium / Platinum 6% rhodium, Platinum 13% rhodium / Platinum, Platinum 10% rhodium / Platinum, Nickel-chromium / Nisil, Nickel-chromium / Constantan, etc.

Conductor combination | Code | Type | Temperature range | Intrinsic error |
Nickel-chromium / Constantan | WRK | E | 0 - 800 ℃ | ±0.75%t |
Nickel-chromium / Nisil | WRN | K | 0 - 1300 ℃ | ±0.75%t |
Platinum 13% rhodium / Platinum | WRB | R | 0-1600 ℃ | ±0.25%t |
Platinum 10% rhodium / Platinum | WRP | S | 0 - 1600 ℃ | ±0.25%t |
Platinum 30% rhodium / Platinum 6% rhodium | WRR | B | 0 - 1800 ℃ | ±0.25%t |
Remark: t refers to the measured temperature (℃) by the temperature sensing element.
Time Constant of Thermocouple AssemblyThermal inertia level | Time constant (sec.) | Thermal inertia level | Time constant (sec.) |
Ⅰ | 90 - 180 | Ⅲ | 10 - 30 |
Ⅱ | 30 - 90 | Ⅳ | <10 |
Nominal pressure: refers to the max. external pressure that the thermowell can withstand under operating temperature
Min. insertion depth: ≥ 8-10 times of the external diameter of thermowell (excluding specialty products)
Insulation resistance: When ambient temperature is 15~35℃ and the relative humidity< 80%, the insulation resistance ≥ 5MΩ at voltage of 100V
For thermocouple assemblies with splashproof junction box, the insulation resistance ≥0.5MΩ at voltage of 100V, when the relative temperature is 93± 3℃
Insulation resistance under high temperature conditions:
Under high temperature conditions, the insulation resistance (wire length: one meter) between the thermode (including duplex thermode) and thermowell, as well as the insulation resistance between two duplex thermodes should be higher than the value shown in following table.
Working temperature ( ℃ ) | Testing temperature ( ℃ ) | Insulation resistance (Ω) |
≥600 | 600 | 72000 |
≥ 800 | 800 | 25000 |
≥1000 | 1000 | 5000 |
