As a positive displacement pump, sanitary rotary lobe pumps feature a low rotation speed and high-temperature resistance. The stable continuous pumping maintains the physical properties of materials, making them especially suitable for highly viscous, corrosion resistant and high temperature materials. The maximum viscosity reaches 1,000,000CP.

Rotary lobe pumps also perform well in conveying low viscosity materials. When needed to pump such materials, the drive system turns at higher speed to ensure the stable output flow.

Taking workplaces into consideration, we provide an added heat jacket to guarantee the constant material temperature and avoid freezing under low temperature conditions.

Working Principle
  • The rotary pump uses two rotors with synchronously reversing rotation to create the suction (vacuum) in the inlet for conveying materials.
  • Two rotors divide the chamber into several parts and rotate in order (a→b→c→d).
  • To a, only I part is filled with materials;
  • To b, B part closes off partial materials;
  • To c, A part also closes off partial materials;
  • To d, A, B and II part build the connection for conveying materials.
  • After continuous circulations, materials are constantly conveyed to the outlet.
Types of Rotary Lobes
Tri-lobe

It is widely used for conveying viscous materials.

Butterfly Lobe

It is commonly used for pumping viscous materials containing solid particles, some of which may be broken along the way.

Single Lobe

It conveys solid materials containing large particles. The specially shaped design avoids particle damage.

Multi-lobe

The multi-lobe pump increases the pumping material stability, though it easily breaks particles along the way.
