Modified Hydrocarbon Resin as Rubber Modifiers and Tackifiers for Adhesives

C5 and C9 copolymerized hydrocarbon resins include C5 and C9 fractions. These resins are new products. The copolymerized hydrocarbon resin combines the characteristics of C5 and C9 hydrocarbon resins. These resins have low softening points, which allows for an excellent mutual solubility with natural rubber particles, without affecting the sulphurization of the rubber. At the same time, all the properties of rubber can be improved in various degrees by the application of these hydrocarbon resins.

C5 and C9 copolymerized hydrocarbon resins are thermoplastic resins with the advantages of both C5 and C9 petroleum resin. Low acid value, excellent miscibility, ethanol resistance, and chemical resistance are all features, as well as an acid resistance, chemical stability, weather and light aging resistance due to the non-polar groups in the structure of the resin.

Applications
1. Soluble in different solvents
2. Excellent balance among initial adhesives
3. Enduring tack and peel strength

The C5 modified C9 resin, also known as an aliphatic modified aromatic resin, has a low molecular weight. The modified resin has the advantages of both C5 and C9 resins. This modified resin also regulates the viscosity and has excellent thermal stability characteristics.

The C9 modified C5 resin is a thermoplastic hydrocarbon resin that uses a C9 resin modified C5 resin. The aromatic modified aliphatic resin has a low molecular weight, a low odor and is light in color. This resin is compatible with SIS, EVA, NR and BR, with an excellent stability and aging resistance.
