Working principle

In the counterflow cooling tower, the direction of air flow and water flow are opposite each other. The air first enters the open area under the PVC fill media and then goes up vertically. At the top of the tower is a pressurized nozzle from which the sprinkler water flows down through PVC fillings in the opposite direction to the air flow. Generally, counterflow cooling towers take up smaller areas than crossflow cooling towers so as to save your space. Besides, counterflow cooling towers are unlikely to freeze in cold weather.

Cooling Tower Parts & Functions

  • Water Distribution System
    Through a gravity-flow distribution or pressurized spray system, the counterflow cooling tower distributes the water to the PVC fill media, above which hot water basins is mounted at the top of cooling tower. A series of nozzles in each hot water basin allow the water uniformly to be distributed on the PVC fillings.
    1. Fan
      The fan is a centrifugal type, and the axial fan system only requires about half of the motor horsepower in the centrifugal fan system of the same level, the energy saving effects are remarkable. The fan is made of aluminum alloy and designed with wide twisted-shape blades, featuring large air volume, low noise under low noise running.
    1. Fill Media
      Low wind-resistance suspension-type PVC fill media features high heat exchange efficiency and electric energy saving.
