The snare drum is composed of a metal shell, plastic or leather drumhead. It is widely used in thesymphony orchestra, jazz band and marching military band. The sound quality canbe changed by loosening the strings, so as to allow the snare drum to producelow and dark tone. The low sound can also be achieved by covering acloth on the drumhead while striking. Made from wood, laminated wood or metal,the two drumsticks can realize special effect while striking, such as quickgrace note and so on. The snare drum is mostly used in the military band orlarge festival ceremony.
