The anti-lock braking system, often abbreviated as ABS, is an automobile safety system that prevents locking up and avoids uncontrolled skidding. In other words, it is able to stop automobiles just like common braking system, but it also eliminates the risk of locking up (cease rotation) of wheels, thus enabling the driver to get better control of his vehicle during braking operation.
