Although it may be an over-simplified analogy, the best way to describe the process of a metering pump is to compare it to a syringe. A syringe pumps a precise amount of fluid because it has an adjustable stroke length that is easily measured for accuracy. In simple terms, if you pull the plunger of the syringe halfway through the chamber, you get 50% of the syringe capacity. If the plunger reaches the end of the chamber, you can pump at 100% capacity. Dosing pumps work in basically the same manner.

The stroke length of the DPM series diaphragm metering pump is adjusted using our patented eccentric mechanism which allows step-less adjustment of the piston stroke anywhere between 0 and 100%. This reciprocating pump maintains a ±0.5% metering accuracy rating anywhere between 10% and 100% of capacity. The DPM series is perfect for customers seeking accuracy, stability, and zero leakage during dosing or movement of media.

Unique to DPM series metering pump is a hydraulically actuated diaphragm which comes with an internal safety valve to protect against dangerous pressure buildup. The relief valve removes excessive hydraulic fluids while the refill valve compensates for the fluids that bleed past the piston. The Hydraulic diaphragm metering pump is used in applications where at least one of the following conditions exists.
1. Corrosive, volatile, combustible, toxic or easily crystallized chemicals are handled.
2. High accuracy, safety, reliability, and efficiency are demanded.
3. Petrochemical, chemical engineering, petroleum/natural gas, power generation, sewage treatment, paper-making, and pharmaceutical industries

Working Principle of Hydraulic Diaphragm Metering Pump
The hydraulic fluid between the piston and the diaphragm moves the diaphragm up or down as the piston reciprocates. The chamber pressure decreases or increases which allows the liquid to be drawn into or forced out of the chamber.
