Thismakes it suitable for use in severe environmental conditions. Custom conductivegaskets are not, however, recommended for use where joints are regularly openedor where an environmental seal is required.

The all-metal compressed wiremesh gasket is EMI shielded; it is constructed from knitted wire mesh to producea seamless gasket, normally with a rectangular or round cross section. Gasketsare made by die-compressing given amounts of mesh to produce solutions in awide range of sizes and densities.
