Piano Wire

Piano wire is a type of cold-drawn steel manufactured following a lead quenching process. It has very high tensile strength and elastic limit, which enables an extensive use of piano wire in the raw materials of springs. We attach great importance to the quality and performance of the wires procured from suppliers. Besides tensile testing, we perform torsion tests, corrosion tests, decarburization tests, etc.

1. What kinds of springs can be made by piano wire?
The diameter of the piano wire is about 0.08~6mm. It can be made into small wire diameter compression springs, torsion springs, industrial extension springs and high-stressed mechanical springs.

2. What are the features of springs made from piano wire?
Piano wire exhibits high strength, elasticity, fatigue resistance, creep resistance and toughness. The surface is smooth, clean and corrosion resistant. Carbon steel wire is produced using high-class carbon structural steel and carbon tool steel. The proportion of sulfur and phosphorus is below 0.025%, while that of copper is under 0.20%. Since no welded joints are allowed, every coil of steel wire consists of only one wire.

Manganese Silicon Spring Steel 60Si2Mn

Manganese silicon spring steel 60Si2Mn is a commonly used manganese silicon spring steel. Compared to 55Si2Mn, 60Si2Mn has better performance in strength, elasticity and hardenability.

Spring steel 60Si2Mn can be made into high-tensile coil springs applied to railway vehicles, automobiles, and tractors. It can also be made into heatproof springs operating under temperatures up to 250℃ in non-corrosive conditions. Large-scale coil springs operating under high stress and automobile dampers can adopt spring steel 60Si2Mn as well.

Chrome Silicon Spring Steel 55CrSi

Chrome silicon spring steel 55CrSi is the material for high-stress springs. It features excellent mechanical properties, fatigue resistance, and anti-relaxation properties.

Chrome silicon spring steel 55CrSi is a kind of oil-tempered steel, which ensures its hardenability and decreases temper embrittlement and overheating sensitivity.

Chrome silicon spring steel 55CrSi can be made into helix suspension springs, which can further be applied to automobile suspension damper systems.

Chrome Vanadium Spring Steel 50CrVA

Chrome vanadium spring steel 50CrVA features excellent mechanical properties, processing properties and has a high quenching degree. Vanadium in steel refines the alloy granules, which can not only decrease its overheating sensitivity, but also improve its strength and toughness. Therefore, chrome vanadium spring steel 50CrVA has outstanding fatigue resistance and a high yield ratio.

Chrome vanadium spring steel 50CrVA can be manufactured into industrial die springs, which is widely used in stamping dies, metal die-casting dies and other precision machinery equipment for elastic movements.
